MP3 FILES BEING MOVED TO LOST.DIR FOLDER

image from softicons.com
Have you experienced saving some mp3 files to your sdcard particularly on 32Gb sizes that whenever you restart your phone those saved files are gone?

Actually they are not totally gone but are renamed and placed in your Lost.Dir folder found on your sdcard.

As I tried to look out for solutions so far the only effective way to get rid of that being renamed and transferred to mentioned folder is by formatting your sdcard.

Just imagine those files are renamed in random numbers and you have no clue which file corresponds to your mp3 file titles which is time consuming on making those trial and error and renaming them one by one, and what if you have more than 50 songs or more?

Yes, this is quite a hassle but I'm not certain why it happens to 32Gb sdcard sizes, mine was class 10 Kingston. Lower sizes like 4Gb seems to have no problem when ever restarting your phone like in Asus Zenfone Laser 5.5s that those mp3 files are intact and no files are being sent to the Lost. Dir folder.

I tried recommendations like using another sdcard adapter or some card readers but whenever I copy mp3 files it goes directly to the Lost.Dir after a reboot or restart.

I did also the chkdsk *: /f command in command window or command prompt (where * is the location of sdcard when inserted to your computer) to fix any errors but still resulted to mp3 files being moved.

So as mentioned above what works for me was simply copy all files from my sdcard to my computer and try to format the sdcard the normal way and put back those files plus the new mp3 files I wish to copy to my 32Gb size and it works perfectly.

Problems like this may be an issue with the sdcard itself and this is not only limited to mp3 files, it may also affect some photos or other files that are being moved to Lost.Dir for some users depending on the android devices they are using and regardless of what brand of their 32Gb sdcard.

I also noticed that sometimes I can't delete a certain folder which I created from sdcard containing mp3 files that are suddenly moved and again formatting the sdcard did the job.

Just a final warning make sure to copy important files from sdcard to your computer before you make the necessary step in formatting your sdcard.

You may check some threads below on some solutions in case formatting your sdcard does not work. These links are not mine just tried to share their post if you wish to try them out.
